Meetings


The Umpqua Lions meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month (except through the summer) at The Tom-Tom on Garden Valley in Roseburg (across from Bi-Mart) [map]. The "Social Hour" begins at approximately 6 pm and the general meeting begins at 6:30 followed by a board meeting as needed.

Dinner is order off the menu.

 

Guest Speakers


The 2nd meeting of the month also includes a guest speaker. If you would like to be a guest speaker, please contact Greg Johnson 541-430-4734.

 

Membership


Come join us at a meeting and check us out, be sure to download the Membership Application. International Lion Membership is open to those of legal majority and good reputation and is by invitation. We have a lot of fun.

DC Fair Food Booth


What a wild and crazy week. We were voted by Fair officials as the Best Food Booth for 2009 and 2010! We serve up wonderful baked potatoes with all the fixings - huge Texas hamburgers and our famous hotdogs. Schedule will be up in the Summer 2011.

 

Scholarships


The Umpqua Lions has four annual $500 scholarships.
  1. The Tom Hobbs Scholarship is specific to a Roseburg High School senior. (obtain application through RHS)
  2. The Vera Shukle Nursing Scholarship specific to the Nursing Program at Umpqua Community College.
  3. The Jim and Sharon Gregory Memorial Scholarship to any college or university.
  4. The Umpqua Lions Scholarship to any college or university.

 

Community Involvement

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Umpqua Lions 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Umpqua Golf Resort in Sutherlin. You will have lots of fun, great prizes and a mean barbeque afterwards!

LIONS DEN - LEGION FIELD
We have way too much fun serving up those great hamburgers during the games!! Combine that with the Doc Stewart's going to Nationals in 2010 the summer of 2012 promises to be really exciting.

If you are interested in helping... get your food handler's license by clicking here to take the course and test online. If you use it at the Den, bring in your receipt and we will pay the $10 fee.
